Just like me, most of you are probably a chocolate fiend. However, we panic that by eating chocolate we are not being true to our healthy diet. WRONG! Apparently dark chocolate can be super healthy. Here are a few reasons why:
- Healthy Teeth: Surprisingly enough, Cocoa protects your teeth. Cocoa bean husks tend to have antibacterial compounds that help in preventing plaque and bacteria to formulate.
- Change your mood instantly– The best part about chocolate is how it can satisfy you instantly. Dark chocolate kick starts the production of endorphins that act as chemicals in your brain and bring you the feeling of ‘happiness’.
- Good for Heart Disease: Flavonoids are compounds that act as antioxidants and are found in dark chocolate. Flavonoids are also known to contribute in lowering blood pressure and LDL cholesterol.
- Aids in weight loss: It has been proven that by smelling dark chocolate one can release an anti-hunger hormone that will aid in reducing your food cravings for about an hour.
